Tire Replacement

It may be tempting to save money by not replacing tires, but we wouldn’t recommend it. As the only part of the car that touches the road, tires have a lot of work to do.

The tread has to dispel surface water to stay safe when it’s wet. The tires have to cope with lumps and bumps in the road to provide comfort, and they have to grip the road surface to stop the car. Tires that are worn, or are in poor condition will have difficulty doing any of those things.

This is something you can do at home, but it’s important to have a professional double check your findings. Tires with no tread, cracks, metal showing or have slow punctures need replacing fast.

Tire Repair

Because of the nature of a tire, repairs are limited. The only practical repair is a plug repair, which can repair punctures. These types of repairs are not suitable for all tire types, and not when the damage is to the sidewall. Often there is no choice but to replace the tire.

Tire Rotation

Tire rotation extends the useful life of your tires by evening out tire wear. This is especially useful for cars without all-wheel drive, as it evens out the wear between the drive wheels and those without drive.

Wheel Balancing

Wheel balancing makes sure the tires are on the wheel right. A balanced tire will rotate without wobbling. This prevents stress on the wheel, suspension and steering.

A Plus Auto Service provides personal, cost-effective service, and I trust the mechanics. That trust is very important to me. As a single woman, I feel that they are being honest and not overcharging me.

I initially started using A Plus Auto because I knew one of the mechanics and was impressed that they were able to keep my older car running for many more years than I thought possible. The car was 14 years old when I donated it to charity and it was still running.

A Plus Auto has also worked on my 1993 Honda and 2003 Camry. I appreciate that they are fast and, if I call to schedule an oil change, they are usually able to get me in and out quickly. They provide a nice lobby area to sit in while you wait.

Their prices on parts are good and they are good about telling you what work is necessary, what is going to need to be done. They also keep you on your preventive maintenance schedule, which I appreciate.
